Regionalverband Saarbrücken set out to modernise and centralise the student ID card process for more than 32,000 students across the region. Together with Zebra, Zebra reseller KFK Bürotechnik, and ScreenCheck, the organisation implemented a unified solution that delivers efficient card printing, encoding, issuance, consistent quality, and streamlined administration.
Regionalverband Saarbrücken needed a unified and reliable way to manage ID card issuance for 32,000 students across 71 schools at around 50 locations. With each location previously handling processes differently, the organisation faced inconsistencies in data accuracy, card quality, and administrative workload.
RVS required a centralised system that still allowed local card production, local inline encoding, ensured consistent student identification, and integrated smoothly with their existing Zebra card printer fleet.
In collaboration with the Zebra reseller, ScreenCheck delivered a scalable solution based on CardsOnline, enabling RVS to centrally manage student data while allowing each school to print & encode cards locally. The system provided a secure, cloud-based environment for automatic import of student data from the central student information system, designing standardised card layouts, and controlling the full card lifecycle. With 48 Zebra ZC300 card printers integrated via ScreenCheck’s workflow, every school can produce high-quality, student ID cards on demand.
RVS now benefits from a streamlined, transparent and efficient ID card process across all its schools. Administrators maintain complete oversight & control, while schools enjoy fast local printing with consistent card design and data accuracy. The combined ScreenCheck and Zebra solution significantly reduced administrative effort, improved card reliability, and created a scalable foundation, ready to support future growth and additional card services throughout the region.
